What types of hockey drills are available and what are their benefits?

Hockey

Hockey is one of the most popular sports. Skating and stick skills fascinate millions of people, few are indifferent to this sport. Hockey is very fast and dynamic game, where in a fraction of a second you can change the game, win or lose the game. Therefore, this sport makes high demands on players in terms of technical, physical and psychological development.

To achieve these goals, there are currently different types of training that help you take a more thorough approach to the training process, make it productive and interesting. The main training of course takes place on ice. Ice training is universal and covers all aspects of hockey player’s development. But additional types of training are also needed for ice training.

For more detailed approach in improving skating technique you can go to a skating simulator in addition to ice, where together with a coach, individually to correct deficiencies in technique, or to improve your skating. Our team, and I in particular, are always very attentive to the development of skating technique, as it is a very important part of the game and hockey practice. The health of future skaters depends on skating technique in the first place. We monitor the correctness of movements, stances, help to regulate the speed of skating, so that the child first of all polishes the skill of skating, only after that can you start serious speeds and movements.

At the training in the throwing zone you can learn to perform all kinds of throws in the shortest time and improve your level of stick technique. In hockey just to skate on the ice – it is not enough, you need to be able to handle the puck, to save it from enemy attacks and most accurately pass it to your team player, and, of course, score a goal that pleases everyone.

In addition to the technical level of the athlete should also develop its “physics”. For this task uses all kinds of exercises and games on the ground to increase total and special endurance, improve coordination, agility and dexterity. Be sure to include a competitive and team aspect to these games, which help a child to develop in society and learn to be a team player. As everyone knows, having a “team” in our lives, even outside of hockey, is already 90% of success. Games and training at our center help your child develop communication skills, flexibility, resiliency, respect for themselves and their teammates, and the ability to reach their goals. In my opinion, these are the most important qualities, which is why I once chose hockey myself. I thought that hockey was the most important thing in my life and I was very happy when my expectations were realized.

Well, in conclusion, we should not forget that all of the above-mentioned trainings are united by one goal – to improve the skill level of a hockey player. And the harmonious development of a hockey player is possible only in the right combination of these trainings.
